What’s your favourite capital city in Europe? For me it has to be Ljubljana! The Slovenia capital (sometimes mistakenly written as Lubiana) is cute, compact, covered in adorable pastels, has its own castle, safe cycle lanes, dramatic dragon statues atop whimsical bridges, cutting edge modern art galleries…and this hidden alternative hippy area where the inner rebel in you will be as happy as I am in the picture below!
Nestled between Austria, Croatia, Hungary and Italy, Slovenia is Europe’s greenest and most peaceful secret, starting to slowly emerge from its forests and lush fields. Word of its beauty is quickly starting to spread: I’m not surprised. Slovenia is an adventurer’s playground and for those seeker peaceful, reflective moments – an absolute dream.
Sometimes an adventurous solo female traveller just needs a full-on nature getaway in the middle of paradise and tranquillity, with lashings of luxury spread all over it…and let’s face it, a glass of wine on top. No matter how much I rough it up mountains or whizz through dirt on my bike, I’m realising that this girl has a limit – and is crying out for some serious TLC.
